More Information On Committees

The Board of MeridianTeaParty.com has established six committees to help MeridianTeaParty.com grow and be effective. Below you will find a short description of each of the committees and the work that needs to be done. Committees may be added as MeridianTeaParty.com moves forward so if you don’t find something you want to participate in, never fear, your chance will come!

Recruitment

We need to grow MeridianTeaParty.com! The more individuals who sign up for the CallToAction Alerts or begin participating in our online forum, the more we can affect change in our government’s policies. This committee will be focused on finding ways to expand our reach and create excited members who will in turn pass the word along to more and more people. This committee will also be concerned with educating new members and helping existing members learn how to educate and recruit their friends.

Publicity & Media

MeridianTeaParty.com needs articulate, spokespeople who can work with the media, draft press releases as required and distribute those releases to the appropriate media outlets whether television, radio, or newspapers. This committee needs to have resources, friends or contacts at all the various media outlets around East Mississippi. We may be MeridianTeaParty.com, but our message resonates far beyond the limits of the City of Meridian.

Web Research

TheGuru is looking for a few good men and women who are dedicated to maintaining the credibility of MeridianTeaParty.com and don’t mind spending time on the Internet tracking legislation, researching deep within news stories to find the truth, and are dedicated to documenting their sources to provide our subscribers with timely information that they can count on. If you are like most people, you get hundreds of emails each week screaming for your attention on some topic, issue or legislation and what we are finding is that a significant amount of the information that comes directly to our inboxes is bogus and cannot be trusted. One of TheGuru’s goals is to give subscribers the confidence to believe if they see it on our website, it is true, accurate, and believable. This is not a committee for email forwarders or what we call Inbox Patriots. This is for the person or persons with a skeptical eye who must be convinced before they try to convince someone else.

Event Coordination

MeridianTeaParty.com is not just about email, websites and electronic communications. It is also about events. This includes meetings, rallies, demonstrations, forums, or recruitment parties. The Event Coordination Team will likely work closely with the Recruitment Team to make sure that every event whether educational, public, or social is one more opportunity to recruit new subscribers. Party Planners are welcome here! The Events Team will likely play a very large role and will be a very visible part of this organization.

Group Networking

MeridianTeaParty.com is not alone in the world of Tea Party Organizations. It is imperative that we make connections with other organizations in order to stimulate, educate and excite our members, but also to organically grow the connections to other groups and provide them with support, motivation and inspiration. In most cases, our legislators may vote the way we want them to vote, but other States may not be as lucky. They may need our help to recruit for their efforts, or to contact our friends and families in their areas to help them affect change where it counts.

Legislative Monitoring

Monitoring the activities of our legislators whether local, statewide, or national is going to be key in the coming 2010 elections. We need people from all walks of life to keep track of all the efforts being made in Washington and individual State to take our freedoms away. Interested in Health Care Reform, Welfare Reform, Defense Budget, or the Second Amendment? Join this committee and help draft CallToAction Alerts and provide those to the Web Team for distribution to subscribers. Again, this committee will be responsible for maintaining the credibility of this organization and providing easy steps to guide subscribers in what they can do to help.
