All reports from the Run For The Wall event indicate that the MeridianTeaParty.com Second Annual RFTW Muffin Breakfast was a big success! We were told this morning that everyone riding in the event were able to enjoy some of the best home cooking Meridian has to offer and we wanted to take a moment to share some pictures from the event and thank everyone who participated either in leading the charge, cooking the muffins, serving the muffins or welcoming the riders.
This has become one of the highlights of the Run For The Wall riders as they pass through Mississippi and once again members of MeridianTeaParty.com folks did our hometown proud!
Elizabeth Lagrone who headed up the effort for us had this to say, “Our breakfast muffins were a great hit again this year. All the RFTW folks were very appreciative. Please put a thank you out on the website for all who helped.”
How about more than one:
Thank you, Thank You, Thank You!
I had to go home and refresh my make-up before going to work after serving muffins to the Run for the Wall riders. Both Monday and Tuesday had very emotional moments–as the riders came under the overpass welcoming them to Meridian, and as they joined in prayer and the pledge of allegiance to our flag at the ag center. How do I send more photos of the events for you to put on the website?
Overwhelming thanks to the “troops” that came to the call for action for these sincere and dedicated riders that are doing their small bit to honor all United States military, past and current for their dedication and respect for their and our great country. It is a great honor to have them spend a little of their time with us. Everything to make these riders happy to be in Meridian was donated by citizens and businesses locally, the county allowed the Agri-center to be used, the city, county, and state provided safe escort throughout their safe ride in Mississippi.
Everyone says they speak very highly of Mississippi and mainly Meridian for our hospitality everywhere they go. For future rides, maybe the local hotel and restaurant representative, the tourism office, might see fit to make an attempt to support these dedicated patriots since they do stay in our hotels and eat in our restaurants.
Again, THANKS to all that assisted and welcomed these patriots to our area.
May 30, 2011 dedication ceremony for the Mississippi Veterans Memorial Cemetery at 248 Honor Circle, Newton, Mississippi will be at 10:00 AM. It’s the Arlington of the South.
Thank YOU again,
W. Steve Reetz
We start preparing for next year soon and will be accepting support in any form throughout the year.
