On Tuesday, October 20th, MeridianTeaParty.com will be hosting a meeting at the EMEPA Auditorium to discuss this important issue and to take action. We have schedule Jeppie Barbour (Gov. Haley Barbour’s brother) to come and speak to us about this issue and to help our members to play a critical role in the success of this effort. Jeppie is heading the effort to gather over 100,000 signatures on petitions to get Voter Id on the ballot in 2011. He is asking that we help by collecting signatures in Kemper, Neshoba, Lauderdale, Newton and Clarke counties. Mr. Barbour will be giving us an update on the progress of the effort so far as well as providing everyone with copies of the petition that we can use to collect as many signatures as possible. The plan is for him to return in November to collect our signed petitions.  

After Mr. Barbour completes his presentation, we will be showing a one-hour documentary film entitled “33 Minutes” which documents the importance of missile defense to the U.S. and describes the systematic efforts by liberals in this country to dismantle our missile defense programs. This is a powerful movie and one everyone should see! With Iran’s continued march toward achieving nuclear weapons, this film is more timely than ever!

We need to have as many people as possible attend this meeting so we can get the word out about Voter ID! With ACORN crumbling, this is the best opportunity we have had in years to bring reform to the voting process!
