On September 28, 2008, The American Thinker published an article by Jason Simpson entitled, \"Barack Obama and the Strategy of Manufactured Crisis.\" In the article, written BEFORE the November election, Simpson asks a simple question: If, prior to the election of the 1994 Republican majority, the Democrats had control of Congress for over 60 years, unlimited resources at their disposal, and all the \"smartest\" people; why have they not come up with a single policy that works? And why, as we learned in the ** you don't have permission to see this link ** of Ronald Reagan's Speech in 1964, have they been fighting the same fights for the last 70+ years with no apparent measurable success other than the growth in the size of the programs? Not one single program introduced has EVER gotten smaller. You would think that politicians would be jumping for joy for those who get off welfare; they should be shouting it from the rooftops. But they never have.
As Simpson puts it: \"One of two things must be true. Either the Democrats are unfathomable idiots, who ignorantly pursue ever more destructive policies despite decades of contrary evidence, or they understand the consequences of their actions and relentlessly carry on anyway because they somehow benefit.\"
