Preamble To The U.S. Constitution

"We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America."

Thomas Jefferson, March 4, 1801

[A] wise and frugal government... shall restrain men from injuring one another, shall leave them otherwise free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned. This is the sum of good government.

Open Thread: Weekend Musical Break

If you are not careful, all the politics and craziness coming out of Washington, D.C. are enough to get you down. Sometimes, it is good to stand back and get some perspective; otherwise, it will make you want to just give up and give in. When that happens to me, I find it helps to remind myself of why I’m fighting to keep my Freedom. It’s really very simple. I love my Country and I love the State of Mississippi and I love the life both have enabled me with God’s help to build for myself and my family. In the end, I just want to deserve the many blessings I’ve given.

We The People Video

Posted by: TheGuru | Comments (1)

One of our own Tea Party members sent the following video to me and unfortunately it has taken me a couple of days to get time to watch it. It’s a little over 5 minutes long and all I have to say about it is “WOW!”

We got a message from the Dallas Tea Party today that we just had to share. Recently, Keith Olbermann ranted that there were no faces of color at Tea Party events and he asked the question, “Where are they?”

Question Authority With Conviction

Posted by: TheGuru | Comments (0)

Here’s a poem written by Taylor Mali (http://www.taylormali.com) entitled “Totally Like Whatever”. It was put into video form by a student named Ronnie Bruce for a typographic class. I’m sure that neither one of them ever expected this to appear on a Tea Party website and they may well ask me to take it down (which I will do should they ask).

However, until that time I want you to watch this and understand that it explains a lot of why Tea Parties are gaining traction, credibility and winning hearts and minds. It will also be a good primer for candidates who seek to win our votes.

Believe what you are saying to the core of your soul. Say it with conviction. People will listen.

In light of Scott Brown’s win in MA, I went back to start taking a look at other candidates that we’ve been watching and I ran across this video clip of Lt. Col. Allen West on Hannity. It’s worth watching, so take a look:

John Adams, 1765

Liberty must at all hazards be supported. We have a right to it, derived from our Maker. But if we had not, our fathers have earned and bought it for us, at the expense of their ease, their estates, their pleasure, and their blood.
