Preamble To The U.S. Constitution

"We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America."

Thomas Jefferson, March 4, 1801

[A] wise and frugal government... shall restrain men from injuring one another, shall leave them otherwise free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned. This is the sum of good government.

An Open Letter To Liberals

Posted by: TheGuru | Comments (1)

To Whom It May Concern:

It has come to my attention that even though We The People have made our preference for you to leave our health care system alone, you have now decided to attempt to ram this boondoggle down our throats using any means at your disposal. We have voiced our negative opinion of your approach to health care reform and you’ve ignored us. We have marched in the streets of Washington, D.C. and you’ve turned a blind eye and a deaf ear. We’ve made telephone calls, signed petitions, and recruited our friend and family to work with us to defeat this bill at every opportunity and you’ve continued tried to march us toward the socialism that you seem so desperate bring to America.

Marlissa Fillingane Northrop sent a message to the members of Mississippians for Voter Identification on FaceBook on February 8, 2010. We are happy to pass it along to everyone. Good work! It looks like we’ll be able to get Voter ID on the ballot in 2011. Check it out (emphasis added by TheGuru):

Subject: GOOD NEWS from MS GOP
From Jeppie Barbour, Mississippi GOP Office
February 8, 2010

At the moment all five districts have exceeded their targets. Districts 1 and 2 and 3 all have comfortable margins (over 22,000). District 4 has just over 20,000 and District 5 has over 21,000. There are several hundred more in the Clerks’ offices in all 5 districts and the certified totals for all will rise. We can reasonably expect that every district will exceed 22,000. A lot of you have done a lot of work and some of you have done very, very much work. It took the teamwork of all of you and your volunteers and our friends from the Tea Party and the other Patriot groups to get this done.

I must ask you to round up every signature that is on a kitchen table or on the counter of a business. We owe it to the volunteers to get them turned in, even if there is not time to certify them. Please send in (by mail or by hand) everything which you can find. Also, please check with the Circuit Clerk and try to get all the petitions that are in the Clerk’s office sent on to us. Please check whatever the Clerk hands you and be sure that they are ours and not from the Personhood* group. We want to get all petitions, certified and uncertified, in to Jackson headquarters this week.

Right now we plan to deliver our petitions to the Secretary of State at 2 pm on Thursday the 11th. You’re welcome to come and to invite anyone who has helped. Let me say that we probably won’t need your help in getting the petitions turned in but we will welcome your company. To our College Republican leaders – you’re included in this invitation. So are your helpers.

To all of you, all over the state, and from all groups – thanks for your work.

Fleming Health Care Reform Update

Posted by: TheGuru | Comments (1)

As many of you know, Congressman John Fleming of Lousiana’s 4th District has had a petition circulating regarding House Resolution 615 which would required Members of Congress to Enroll in any Public Option created by Health Care Reform. Many of you have gone to his website Http://fleming.house.gov to sign the online petition and many have agreed that whatever Congress votes to do should apply as equally to them as it does to each of us.

We just received an email update from Rep. Fleming explaining the current situation with HR 615 and his ongoing efforts to fight Health Care Reform and wanted to share it with you: Read More→

John Adams, 1765

Liberty must at all hazards be supported. We have a right to it, derived from our Maker. But if we had not, our fathers have earned and bought it for us, at the expense of their ease, their estates, their pleasure, and their blood.
