Preamble To The U.S. Constitution

"We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America."

Thomas Jefferson, March 4, 1801

[A] wise and frugal government... shall restrain men from injuring one another, shall leave them otherwise free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned. This is the sum of good government.

The MeridianTeaParty.com Patriots In The Plaza BBQ Event was an unqualified success!!!!

We served over 660 plates of great Squealer’s BBQ and we made a lot of new friends on that hot, hot day! After the money was all counted and all the bills were paid, MeridianTeaParty.com netted just over $2,800.00 for the Billboard Campaign!

When combined with the many, very generous donations that we’ve received over the past couple of months, we have now raised over $6,800.00! We have exceeded our original goal and we can now accelerate our schedule and get our second billboard up as quickly as possible. In addition, we will be planning a big event for either September or October to raise public awareness of the issues surrounding the November, 2010 elections.

Patriots In The Plaza Fundraiser

Posted by: TheGuru | Comments (0)

As you may already be aware, MeridianTeaParty.com has been raising money for our Billboard Campaign. Our goal is to keep a billboard up until November 2, 2010 to raise awareness of the failure of our elected officials to live up to their oath to defend The Constitution and preserve the financial well-being of our Country. So far, we’ve raised about half of the money needed and our first billboard is up.

On July 2, 2010, MeridianTeaParty.com will be holding a fundraiser in the middle of downtown Meridian at Dumont Plaza from 10:00am until 2:00pm. We are currently selling tickets for Squealer’s BBQ plates for $7.00 each. We will deliver for purchases of 10 tickets or more!

Great BBQ is an awesome way to kick off the Fourth of July Weekend!!!!

Our First Billboard Is UP!

Posted by: TheGuru | Comments (2)

On Friday, June 4th 2010, MeridianTeaParty.com’s first billboard went up in Meridian, MS!

The billboard is located on I-20/I-59, faces the east-bound lane  and is on the exit for the mall. It will be seen an estimated 28,000 times per day! We are very pleased with the result and excited about the effect it will have on not only the Meridian/Lauderdale County community but also the thousands of travelers who pass through our city every day.

Here’s a photo of the new billboard:

Run For The Wall 2010

Posted by: TheGuru | Comments (0)

028 This is an event I’ll never miss again. Some of you may not know that the Tea party provided over a thousand homemade muffins for these guys at the Ag Center this morning. We also handed out a thousand or so flyers. We all got a chance to spend time talking to these folks and, to a person, they agree with us. We were literally preaching to the choir. If the rest of the country was like them this country would not have the problems we do and socialized medicine would never have made it to first base.

Bill Marcy – Mississippi District 2

Posted by: TheGuru | Comments (0)

Bill MarcyOn June 1st, residents of Mississippi’s District 2 will go to the polls in a primary election to determine which conservative candidate will go up against Rep. Bennie Thompson in the general election. Marcy is a conservative and has the papers to prove it. He recently scored a 100% on a 80 question candidate survey created by The Central Mississippi Tea Party to assess the conservative stances of candidates from across the state. (Click here to open a pdf file of the questions and Bill’s answers)

Bennie Thompson has demonstrated his support for the Liberal Agenda time and time again in spite of the overwhelming and obvious preference of the people to live by more Fiscally and Social Conservative values. It is clear that the longer elected officials stay in Washington, D.C., the more out of touch they become. Representative Thompson has been in Washington long enough and it is time to send him home.

Bill Marcy is a committed Fiscal and Social Conservative and his many years as a police officer reminds him daily that his role is to Serve & Protect. Bill will Serve the interests of Mississippi and Protect our Freedoms. Bill will focus his attention on the reducing the debts that our children and grandchildren will have to pay. Bill’s values are the values of the People Of Mississippi and he will represent our State honorably, honestly and humbly. Marcy has been an active member of the tea party movement since their inception and has spoken at many tea party events.

John Adams, 1765

Liberty must at all hazards be supported. We have a right to it, derived from our Maker. But if we had not, our fathers have earned and bought it for us, at the expense of their ease, their estates, their pleasure, and their blood.
