According to his testimony before the Senate Republican Conference on June 22, 2009, Ben Lieberman, Senior Policy Analyst for Energy and Environment in the Thomas A. Roe Institute for Economic Policy Studies at The Heritage Foundation outlined some of the specifics of the economic impact of Cap & Trade. You can read his complete testimony ** you don't have permission to see this link **; however, the salient part is quoted below:

According to the analysis we conducted at The Heritage Foundation, which is attached to my written statement, the higher energy costs kick in as soon as the bill's provisions take effect in 2012. For a household of four, energy costs go up $436 that year, and they eventually reach $1,241 in 2035 and average $829 annually over that span. Electricity costs go up 90 percent by 2035, gasoline by 58 percent, and natural gas by 55 percent by 2035. The cumulative higher energy costs for a family of four by then will be nearly $20,000.

But direct energy costs are only part of the consumer impact. Nearly everything goes up, since higher energy costs raise production costs. If you look at the total cost of Waxman-Markey, it works out to an average of $2,979 annually from 2012-2035 for a household of four. By 2035 alone, the total cost is over $4,600.

Today, I heard that if this bill becomes law, you will have to have your home inspected by a \"Government Energy Expert\" and you will have to bring the home into compliance BEFORE it can be sold. And, now BHO is announcing new requirements for the energy efficiency of guess what? Lamps. LAMPS!?!?

By the time Americans finally wake up and realize it's too late to stop this intrusion into our lives, we won't be able to see anything cuz….

IT'S GOING TO BE TOO DARK TO SEE!!!!

Yes, it is going to kill the real estate market, not to mention the latest figures for the cost to the average household now starts at approx. 3000 dollars a year ( some new figures from the Heritage Foundation if this old brain is still functional) increase in living expenditures due to Cap and Trade. As far as the lamps go,  comgress had that added as an amendment to a bill that passed under demo leadership and was signed into law, I would have to look it up, but under the bill incandesant light bulbs are to be phased out by I think 2012, that would be the reason that I am stockpiling incandsant bulbs( I hate the light given off by CFL's). Oh yeah, by the way ALL the CFL's are made in CHINA! The better choice if you can afford them are LED lights as they last almost forever and produce a white light, but they run 30 to 40 dollars per bulb.

Until we wake up Joe and Jane Average, we stand not a snowballs chance in hell of stoping this facist administratrion, and until we are ready to fight as dirty as they do, we are lost.
