DO NOT DOUBT THAT WE CAN HAVE AN IMPACT!

This is refreshing news! House Republican Leader John Boehner just published ** you don't have permission to see this link ** to let everyone know that people all over the country are starting to speak up and give Democrats a piece of their mind over Cap & Trade. We cannot stop, we cannot quit, we cannot give up. This should give us the motivation to work harder to let these elected officials know that in the end, they do not work for Pelosi and her ilk, they work for us, the people.

Personally, I believe this is the best news I've heard in a long, long time. Whether it is organizations such as the Tea Parties or the fact that average Americans are finally starting to pay attention doesn't matter. What matters is that voices are beginning to be heard and more importantly, listened to.

Here's the key passage in this alert:

According to a Reuters report today, the Senate has cancelled all legislative hearings on the Pelosi energy tax legislation and will not hold a committee vote on the bill this summer.  And Senate Environment and Public Works Committee Chairman Barbara Boxer pointedly “did not guarantee Congress will be able to finish a bill and deliver it to Obama by December.”  Will the Senate ever act on this job-killing bill?

This does not mean that we can let up on the Senators. They still need to know how we feel and when the time comes to vote, we cannot forget what the House of Representatives tried to do. It is imperative for us to develop memories like elephants and stop giving elected officials the benefit of the doubt on key issues.

In the end it the only thing that counts is how they voted and if they voted for any motive other than in the best interests of the people of the United States, then we need to be prepared to vote them out of the office regardless of how much we may like them personally. Hard medicine to swallow, but it's time to get politicians' attention and the fastest way to get their attention is to be prepared to send them home.
