Opposing The SCOTUS Nomination Of Sotomayor
A Senate Judiciary Committee vote on the nomination of Judge Sonia Sotomayor to be an Associate Justice of the United States Supreme Court will be held on Tuesday, July 28, at 10:00 a.m. in room 216 of the Hart Senate Office Building. This vote will determine whether the Committee will report the nomination of Sotomayor to the full Senate. The full Senate will then vote to approve or disapprove of the nomination.
There are two separate votes standing between Sotomayor and the Supreme Court. MeridianTeaParty.com opposes the nomination of Sonia Sotomayor for many reasons not the least being her inability to defend The Second Amendment which is contrary to MeridianTeaParty.com’s principle of requiring Constitutional Fidelity of our government. There are plenty of other reasons to oppose her confirmation and most of these can be seen clearly in the questioning of Sotomayor by Sen. Tom Coburn (R-OK) which can be viewed here.
